Anthony Bridgerton picks a bride but finds himself drawn to her sister.

Anthony Bridgerton, eldest brother of Daphne who is featured in the first novel in the series, decides it is time to find a bride. He believes that Edwina Sheffield will be an acceptable choice, as she lacks a dowry and has an agreeable character.

Edwina is overheard saying that her sister Kate must approve of her husband at a party. Anthony's younger brother Colin introduces Kate to Anthony with a smirk, seeing something in Kate that will appeal to his brother. Anthony begins to be haunted by Kate in his dreams, but they continue to have spats in public.

Anthony and Kate slowly develop a friendship throughout the season as he courts Edwina. It is obvious to the reader much sooner than it is to Anthony that Kate is the woman for him.

Recommended for fans of historical romances, especially Regency-era.

Note: This version of the audiobook includes the second epilogue that was originally a novella and is also included in The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After. It includes a spoiler about who Anthony's brother Colin ends up marrying, so if you don't want to know until you get to that in the series, don't listen!
