Under One Roof
Mara inherits half of a house and must live with the owner of the other half.
Mara Floyd's elderly mentor Helena Harding dies and leaves her a house in Washington, D.C. The catch is that Helena only owns half of the house, so Mara has to move in with William "Liam" Harding, Helena's nephew.
Mara is an environmental engineer who is conscious of her carbon footprint and Liam is a corporate lawyer working for big oil. Their differences drive them apart in the beginning and their antics are humorous as each tries to sabotage the other.
As time passes, they learn more about each other and their relationship evolves into a friendship that they rely on as two lonely career-focused individuals. The attraction that each felt at their meeting eventually bubbles to the surface.
The novella begins with the ending, so the reader knows that this will be a happily ever after story. Recommended for romance fans who enjoy plucky heroines and the romance tropes of forced proximity and enemies to lovers.
