Talk Bookish to Me
Kara's college ex could be the key to finishing her next romance novel.
Kara Sullivan is a romance author with writers' block. The deadline to turn in her next romance novel is looming but Kara has written exactly zero words.
When she discovers that the college ex-boyfriend who stomped on her heart is a friend of the groom at her bestie's wedding, she is floored. Her interactions with Ryan get her creative juices flowing and chapters are flying onto her laptop.
Can Kara keep up the contact with Ryan to finish her novel -- without catching feelings? And will the secrets they keep from each other hinder their relationship before it begins?
Natalie Naudus' Southern accent is abysmal, and her British accent (used to read the pages of Kara's novel) is not much better. Her normal American accent used for most of the narration is fine and doesn't detract from the story. She, like most female narrators, uses a deeper tone when reading male characters' dialogue.
Recommended for fans of enemies to lovers or second chance romances and those looking for bookish contemporary fiction.
Kate Bromley is a former teacher who lives in New York City.
